The 6th ALGOA & Inaugural GAOD Summits were Successfully Completed!
On Sept 18th, more than a thousand people from 33 countries all over the world participated at the 5th ALGOA Anniversary Celebrations which included the official launching of the Young Organic Global Network (YOGN) and the matriculation ceremony of the Organic Foundation Course. The events were stream-lived on Facebook and Youtube.
From Oct 12th to the 16th, the 6th ALGOA Summit was held under the banner of “Building Alliances Beyond Asia” together with the inaugural Summit of the Global Alliance of Organic Districts (GAOD). More than one thousand six hundred participants from 46 countries took part in the Summit sessions.

The 6th ALGOA Summit will be held virtually on October 12th – 16th, at 1400 – 1700 Korean Standard Time / 0700 – 1000 CEST.
The Opening Ceremony will be held on October 12th, 1400 – 1545 Korean Standard Time / 0700 – 0845 CEST.

The 6th ALGOA Summit will go virtual on September 18th and October 12th-16th!
Because of the current situation, this year, the 6th ALGOA Summit will go virtual and will be held on 2 dates – September 18th which will be the 5th Anniversary of ALGOA and the Asia Organic Day and the Summit proper on October 12th – 16th, 3 hours daily for 5 days!
Major activities during the Summit include the Designation of ALGOA Centers, Official Inauguration of the Global Alliance of Organic Districts (GAOD), Matriculation Ceremony of the 2020 Organic Foundation Course and the Launching of the Young Organics Global Network.

Application to the ALGOA Organic Foundation Course 2020 is offered to ALGOA members, IFOAM Asia affiliates and partners in Asia. Priority will be given to participants from developing countries. Full and partial sponsorships are offered to all eligible participants.
The ALGOA+4 International Summit on Organic Agriculture Policy in Goesan, South Korea
This year , the ALGOA + 4 International Summit on Organic Agriculture Policy was held on September 18th – 21st in Goesan County, South Korea. More than a hundred foreign guests were present at the Summit with participation from over all the continents – the first time ALGOA has gone global.
The ALGOA+4 International Summit on Organic Agriculture Policy
The Asian Local Governments for Organic Agriculture (ALGOA) is a sub organization of IFOAM Asia and works with over two hundred local governments in Asia to promote the expansion of organic agriculture. Every year, the annual ALGOA Summit is held in Goesan county, South Korea, the holder of ALGOA presidency, and is attended by government leaders, researchers, advocates and practitioners from all over Asia.
This year , the ALGOA + 4 International Summit on Organic Agriculture Policy will be held on September 18th – 21st in Goesan County, South Korea. More than a hundred foreign guests will be present at the Summit with participation from over all the continents – the first time ALGOA has gone global.
Representatives from international agencies such as the FAO, local and foreign governments will grace the historic occasion. The IFOAM Organics International and IFOAM Asia board will be also be present as well as representatives from the regional bodies including the farmer representatives from the Intercontinental Network of Organic F arming Organizations (INOFO).
Goesan County is the holder of ALGOA Presidency for 2017 - 2019
